报告内容摘要:
Supply Chain Management is the practice of a group of firms working collaboratively in a network of interconnected processes structured to best satisfy end-customer needs while rewarding all members of the chain appropriately. In this talk, I will provide an introduction to some recent academic development in the area of supply chain management and their applications in industries. The talk consists of three parts: first, I will introduce some basic facts about supply chain management. Second, I will discuss how to optimize the supply chain within one firm by presenting a few theoretically challenging and practically important problems, such as, Assemble-to-Order systems, strategic inventory positioning and product-driven supply chains. Thirdly, I will discuss how to integrate the supply chain among multiple firms by addressing the issues of bullwhip effect, strategic alliances and pharmaceutical supply chain alignment. Given the time limit, my focus is on defining the problems rather than solving them.
