报告简介:(Abstract)

Proton chemistry is the chemistry that is induced by proton transfer, which is one of the most fundamental processes in nature. Most of proton transfer processes are driven by a high concentration of proton, from acid-catalyzed reactions to the activities of many enzymes. Using light to modulate proton concentration (pH) and proton transfer allows proton chemistry to be conducted with remote, temporal and spatial control. Metastable-state photoacids can reversibly produce a large proton concentration with high efficiency under visible light with moderate intensity, e.g., from LEDs and sunlight. The mechanism and design principle of metastable-state photoacids will be discussed in this talk. Applications of metastable state photoacids in chemical, material and biomedical areas will be introduced. Recent progress on the development of metastable state photoacid and its polymers with desirable properties will be presented as well.
